Fallout 4 is a modder’s wet dream, with near limitless capabilities to make the game ten times better – or worse – with a whole cache of crazy things available to try on the PC version. Here’s a quick look at some of the best mods from 2015. While these mods are currently only available on the PC version, Bethesda have said that mods will be coming to consoles in the near future.

Creature Followers

This nifty mod lets you tame any of the feral creatures you might meet out in the wasteland, and have them accompany you as pets. You can have the likes of Rad Scorpions, Synths, Deathclaws and even a cat follow you around, and it even leaves your normal companion slot free so you can have a little party. This one can be a bit fiddly as you have to go into the console commands but it’s totally worth it. Download here.

Atom Bomb Baby

This simple, but brilliant mod, changes your long-lost son, Shaun into a flailing baby-missile and it’s pretty much as fun as it sounds. Launching a baby out of a nuclear missile launcher has never been so fun. Download here.

Homemaker

If, like me, you spend most of your time in the wasteland sprucing up your settlements, then the Homemaker mod is probably for you. It adds in things like more crops, new walls, fences and roofs, 30 new kinds of lights, ammo boxes and even meatbags for that authentic Supermutant feel. Some of the things you can do with this are insane. Download here.

Full Dialogue Interface

Many grumbles were made about the simplified dialogue options in Fallout 4, with people claiming that they pretty much all lead to the same conclusion. Now, with the Full Dialogue Interface you can see exactly what your ‘Sarcastic’ reply will involve. It might also stop you from putting your foot right in it with a companion you’re trying to impress. Download here.

Enhanced Wasteland Preset

Fallout 4 is a hell of a lot more cheerier to look at than Fallout 3. While still pretty bleak looking, the game is a hell of a lot less green than its predecessor. If you want to take things that one step further though, you can add more colour and vibrancy to the game. While it’s not exactly a huge difference, it does help breath a bit more life into the wasteland. Download here.
