Five-Year-Old Is Tragically Crushed To Death By ‘Rotating Restaurant’ Wall

A five-year-old-boy has been killed in a tragic accident at a popular rotating restaurant.

Charlie Holt received serious head-injuries when he became trapped between the table and wall in the rotating Sun Dial restaurant in downtown Atlanta.

Staff in the restaurant immediately stopped the rotating floor and attempted to free the boy but he was trapped in a narrow space only five inches wide between the table an the wall.

Unfortunately Charlie suffered severe head trauma and he was pronounced dead soon after arriving at Grady Hospital at 3:30pm, CBS News reports.

Police told local TV Station WXIA:

His whole body was caught in between maybe 4 or 5 inches of space and his head took the brunt of the injury,’ police said to, WXIA. ‘It crushed his little small body.

In a statement made by a family spokesperson the family asked for prayers and privacy as they come to terms with this tragedy adding: ‘No words can express their loss. If you have a loved one, please give them an extra hug today.’

The Sun Dial restaurant, which sits at the top of the Westin Peachtree Hotel, has been closed until further notice and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration are currently investigating the incident.#

Westin Peachtree Plaza Manager George Reed confirmed that there had been a tragic accident at the hotel involving a young boy and that ‘words cannot express the depths of our sorrow’ before adding that the hotel staff’s thoughts and prayers were with the boy’s family.
