Two women in Florida attempted to get free fries from Burger King and assaulted an employee when their request was denied, police say.

In this day and age, you’d think most people understand how the exchange of goods works. Most of the time if you want something you have to pay for it, unless you’re lucky enough to stumble across some free samples.

This very system is applied in restaurants around the world, but for some reason police say 42-year-old Natasha Ethel Bagley and 27-year-old Genesis Peguero decided to try their luck at a Miami Burger King.

As per the Miami Herald, police explained the two women drove into the drive-thru on April 2 and asked for free fries, which naturally they were refused.

Minutes later, Bagley and Peguero went inside the restaurant and asked which of the employees called one of them a ‘bitch’. The 42-year-old woman then jumped over the counter.

The store manager came out of her office, and Peguero reportedly demanded she open the cash register and hand over the money inside. The manager told police the woman was threatening to hit her with a pistol.

The manager attempted to contact the police using the store’s phone, but Peguero snatched the phone out of her hands before she had the chance to get through. Police say the 27-year-old then began to punch the manager, and Bagley jumped over the counter and joined in with the assault.

The pair went to leave, but before they did Peguero allegedly turned around and pulled the registers and monitors from the counters. The two women then left the restaurant in a black SUV vehicle.

According to a Miami-Dade police report, as cited by the Miami Herald, Bagley was arrested on Monday (May 27) for the incident.

Her charges included armed robbery with assault or battery, criminal mischief and attempted robbery with a deadly weapon. The 42-year-old is in jail and is being held without bond.

Court records show Bagley has an arrest history dating back to the mid-1990s for numerous crimes, including prostitution, petit theft, arson and child neglect, the New York Post reports.

Bagley’s accomplice Peguero is still on the loose.
