GettyThe Foo Fighters are suing an insurance company after they weren’t paid for gigs cancelled in the wake of the 2015 Paris terror attacks.
After the atrocious events in the French capital last November, a number of the band’s European gigs were cancelled when an ISIS affiliated hacker threatened the band online, Digital Spy reports.
Their website, www.foofighterstours2015.com, was hacked days after the attack on the Bataclan and altered to display the so-called Islamic State’s flag, an automatic weapon and the warning ‘be prepared’.
GettyThey were scheduled to play in Turin, Paris, Lyon and Barcelona late last year but safety concerns meant that all the shows were cancelled.
The band are now claiming that they were never ‘reimbursed’ for these cancelled shows and are suing Lloyd’s of London plus the broker responsible for securing the policies, Robertson Taylor.
The lawsuit which was filed on Monday alleges that the U.S. rockers are owed for the cancelled concerts.
WikimediaThe band believes that it’ll be paid for the cancelled gigs in Paris and Lyon, but claims that Taylor advised against paying for the Turin and Barcelona shows.
The group’s legal battles don’t end there though, they’re also suing the insurers for three gigs that were cancelled after their frontman Dave Grohl took a tumble off the stage in Sweden last summer and broke his leg.
GettyFoo Fighters were apparently on the verge of splitting earlier this year, but were seemingly just pranking their fans – although the band are expected to go on a short hiatus in the coming months.
