Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is used to being a leading man, but could he soon be leading the U.S. to a brighter future in 2020.
In a recent interview with GQ Magazine, the action star admitted that he hasn’t ruled out an eventual move into politics in the future.
The former WWE World Champion said:
I’ll be honest, I haven’t ruled politics out… I’m not being coy when I say that, but at the moment I am not sure.
I can’t deny that the thought of being governor, the thought of being president, is alluring. And beyond that, it would be an opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives on a global scale. But there are a lot of other things I want to do first.
Cool piece on why I should run for President. Maybe one day. Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck..https://t.co/JpkZ4w1eh3

This isn’t the first time that the star’s hinted at his political ambitions, back in March he joked that he was open to running for preident ‘one day’, tweeting: “Surely the White House has a spot for my pick up truck.”
Johnson wouldn’t be the first wrestler to leap from the ring and into the murky world of politics. Former wrestler Jesse Ventura, served as Governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003 and lets not forget that Donald Trump is in the WWE Hall of Fame.
The Rock won’t be running unopposed though, with rapper Kanye West’s also toying with the idea, using the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards to say he would run for the White House in 2020.
If the idea of a ‘West V Johnson’ presidential race depresses you then you’re not alone…
You know the US is a joke when celebrities like the Rock and Kanye West want to run for president

"Grandpa, what was it like before Chewbacca Mom became Secretary of State under President The Rock?"

Others were a bit more optimistic…
If "The Rock" becomes US president I will sleep better at night

The Rock should run for president. I am 100% serious. He does tons of charity work + uses his celebrity for good https://t.co/1THLlbIYAo

Then again President Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger went pretty far in politics so maybe this is the future of politics.
Dear god…
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
