A former MI5 officer has sparked controversy after claiming the Paris attacks were an ‘inside job’ and not carried out by Isis.
David Shayler, 49, released a video on YouTube claiming that there is a substantial amount of evidence that terrorists were not behind the series of terror attacks in the French capital, which left 130 people dead.
He believes instead that ‘dark forces’ linked to Western intelligence services were behind the horrific attacks on November 13.
Before the times of Edward Snowden – who leaked confidential details after leaving the U.S. National Security Agency – Shayler did something rather similar.
He resigned from the MI5 back in 1996 and then leaked private details about MI5 operations- which included claims that MI6 were a part of a failed assasination attempted on Colonel Gaddafi.
Shayler leaked details to the Mail on Sunday in 1997 before fleeing abroad to the Netherlands at first and later, France.
Speaking in his video, he said:
I think there is some dark design in the pattern of the attacks that took place in Paris on Friday, November 13. Once again it has been blamed on ISIS, but it appears to bear all the hallmarks of a Gladio-style operation.
Operation Gladio was the codename for a secret NATO operation in Italy during the Cold War. There are claims that apparent terrorist attacks in Italy were actually carried out by secret NATO officers have faced inquiries in Switzerland and Belgium.
Shayler went on to suggest that even the two-hour siege by French police in the aftermath were staged, saying there was barely any footage posted to social media.
He added: “They left ID. They would have been highly trained not to leave ID, so anyone who believes that has got to be pretty gullible.”
Several conspiracy theory websites have made similar claims of the attacks being an inside job, but Shayler’s views get even more weird and paranoid, as he goes on to claim that the sites were chosen because of his former residence there.
You really struggle to take him seriously as he believes he is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ and is just chilling with a Sex Pistols ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ print in the background.
Perhaps ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ could be some pretty sound advice after listening to his claims…
