Anna, Elsa, Olaf and the gang are coming back to bring us more wintery fun as Frozen 2 has been confirmed for November 22, 2019.
The original movie was released back in 2013, and there’s no denying it took the world by (snow)storm. Let It Go became the anthem of the Christmas season and Olaf’s witty banter and perfectly timed pauses made for some hilarious viewing.
I think it’s safe to say you didn’t need to be a child to enjoy the animated fun of Frozen. I happily enjoyed singing duets of Love Is An Open Door all the way through university.
According to Collider, Disney have now confirmed the sequel to the movie for November 22, 2019, so hopefully we’ll finally find out if Olaf has successfully learned what a snowman does in summer, whether Kristoff is still sharing carrots with the slobbery Sven, and if Anna and Elsa have made Arendelle a cool place to live?
Of course, this is a Disney movie, so there’s bound to be some turmoil involved, too.
The sequel was originally set to be released on November 27, but it’s been moved up five days to fall on Thanksgiving weekend in the US.
It might only be five days earlier, but that’s five days less we have to wait. Good move, Disney.
Frozen 2 will be released just in time for the Christmas season, making the sequel perfect holiday-season viewing.
I suppose this is where we have to ask, is Frozen a Christmas movie? I mean, it’s technically set in summer, it’s actually only cold because of Elsa’s rogue powers. It’s like the Die Hard debate all over again.
Disney are relying on the successful formula of the first movie, which earned $1.3 billion dollars at the box office, by bringing back Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Josh Gad as Anna, Elsa, and Olaf, respectively.
Frozen’s co-writers/co-directors, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, will be making a comeback to write the sequel, so hopefully the humour will be to the same standard as the original, and the songs just as catchy.
Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood and This Is Us star, Sterling K. Brown, are reportedly in talks to join the sequel, suggesting Anna and the gang will be crossing paths with some new characters in the new storyline.
Let’s hope neither of them will be as sly as the evil Hans!
Fans are are seemingly overjoyed with the news, and many are wishing the time away so we can reunite with our favourite Frozen characters as soon as possible.

I’m excited for “Frozen 2” and I can’t wait to see it!!!!!!! [sic]
Let’s hope whoever’s in charge of the soundtrack comes up with some more bangers to have us all singing Frozen songs on an endless loop all over again!
Frozen 2 is set to be released November 22, 2019.
