Gambling can be a cruel mistress and one that I have had to deal with on numerous occasions.
Though I’m on a winning streak at the minute, losing £70 to a Deal Or No Deal machine just days before my anniversary certainly wasn’t the high point of my life.
However that isn’t to say that taking a chance with your money is always a bad idea – as one Brazilian businessman found out on January 3, reports the Daily Mail.
The president of huge shoe company Vulcabras-Azaleia, Pedro Grendene Bartelle, headed to the Hotel Conrad in Punta del Este, along the Uruguay coast, as 2017 began its first week.
With his friends beside him, Pedro took a chance and threw $35,000 dollars worth of chips on a single roulette spin. He won $3.5 million.
In the video, filmed by an onlooker, you can see Pedro stood with his friends, a glass of wine in one hand, waiting fucklessly for the result to come in. And it does.
As the ball lands on the lucky number, an ecstatic roar spurts out as Pedro and the gang jump into the air before getting into a huddle with one another, jumping up and down on the spot in disbelief.
