Gary The Goat / YoutubeGary The Goat who became internet famous has tragically died at the age of six-years-old, owner Jimbo Bazoobi has confirmed.
Jimbo posted a heartfelt tribute to Gary, who has more than 1.7 million followers on Facebook, saying at first they thought he was just ‘bloated’ – but it’s ‘very hard to diagnose a goat who doesn’t give a f**k’.
Gary was purchased by Jimbo in exchange for a case of beer in December 2011 and the pair have been touring Australia and making funny videos ever since.

In the Facebook post with the title ‘Gary The Goat Passes Away’, Jimbo writes:

Unlike my post on April Fool’s day in 2016 this news is not a joke.
Gary died tonight aged six (on Thurs 16th of November at about 10:30pm) from euthanasia – after vets diagnosed a bleed from an acute heart tumour.
The vets drained it once but when it came back 24hrs later we decided that Gary needed to go out peacefully and pain free instead of being conscious while he couldn’t breathe.

It continued:
I’ve been filming for the the last few days while travelling over 1500kms between three different vets. We thought it was just bloat at first – but it’s very hard to diagnose a goat who doesn’t give a f**k.
Anyway, I’ll maybe put up a video with some more details after I’ve had some sleep, sorted out death stuff…. and got back to a girlfriend and two kids I’ve left somewhere in the middle of QLD. This could take a while though.
Plus I know when I do eventually get round to editing the last video of Gary up, I’m gunna wish that I was instead filming St Peter trying to get Gary off the cigarette butts and in thru the Pearly Gates.
We’ll all miss you Gary. You gave so much happiness to so many people. Rest In Peace, mate.

Gary’s story is a funny one, Jimbo bought him for a ‘carton of Emu Bitter’, not realising the ‘wonderful twists and turns his life would take from then on’, the pair’s website reads.
When Gary got busted for eating vegetation in Sydney, the world’s media jumped on the novelty of the story, and he even ended up in court.
A magistrate did dismiss the case however.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia a couple of years ago, Jimbo said their success skyrocketed when he started posting videos to Facebook.
He said:
I think they can actually see his personality… They just go ‘s**t this is a cool goat’.
They can see I’ve not just cut and pasted pictures of goats or whatever.
I’ve always treated him as my mate and he is. He just understands a lot more than I ever imagined. He’s just a relaxed, inquisitive goat who likes to do different things.
