What’s better than travelling the world for free? Getting paid to travel the world for free.
The idea of breaking free from the 9-5 shackles and seeing the sights can be all too tempting. The problem with it, though, is usually money. But what if that problem was alleviated?
Enter Kenzie and Derek Tillotson. They want to pay you to travel the world with them.
But there’s a catch:
Yup, they have kids – three of them. And they want you to help look after them.
Starting this July, the Tillotson family are looking for a travel nanny to come and help out with their children – Porter, Beckett and Wren.
“We’re looking for somebody who’s going to love our children as much as we do,” Kenzie explains in the couple’s video advertisement.
Interested? In exchange for pretty much free everything, you’ll be paid a salary of $1,200 to $1,500 a month, plus a paid flight home during the Christmas holidays.
Duties include looking after Kenzie and Derek’s kids, homeschooling and going on family outings.
Kenzie, who turned 30 in December, explains on the family blog, Five Take Flight: “I am a planner, Derek is spontaneous, so our itinerary is somewhere in the middle.”
But the general route will take them from New York to Iceland in July, followed by a tour of Europe, then a Christmas pit-stop back home before going on to Hawaii, the Pacific, and Asia until next June.
Since the video went viral, Kenzie and Derek have been overwhelmed with responses. The downside to that for those of you looking to snag yourself a free trip and a job, though, is that the formal application has since been closed.
The good news? There’s still a waiting list.
If the Tillotson family don’t fancy anyone who has already applied, they’ll look over the waiting list – so there’s still hope.
