Usually it’s parents who get frustrated at their children for being on their phones a lot – but one dad was on his phone so much, his daughter actually threw it into the sea.
I’m sure we all remember the desire to have our parents’ recognition when we were younger. We might wail ‘mum’ or ‘dad’, or simply tug on their clothes until they showered us with their undivided attention.
One little girl had a different strategy to get her dad to notice her.

Russian rapper Timati seemed to be living a stress-free life shortly before this video was taken. He was relaxing on a yacht in Saint-Tropez on the French Riviera, engaged in a phone call while he lay on a sun lounger.
Then his four-year-old daughter decided that she needed her father’s attention, and his phone was the one thing standing in her way.
The feisty little girl tried to speak to her dad, and Timati gave her a short response, probably telling her to be quiet while he was on the phone.
He went back to his phone call, but four-year-old Alisa didn’t give up that easily. She tried again to speak to the rapper, and when he lowered his phone to answer her, she knew exactly what she had to do.
Alisa grabbed her dad’s phone and threw it into the water, before turning back with a grin to find her dad giving her a look of shock and confusion.
I’d probably feel more sorry for the father if he wasn’t on a yacht when the incident occurred. I think he can probably afford a new phone.
Timati shared the video on his Instagram page – suggesting he could definitely afford a new phone – with three crying/laughing emojis, probably depicting exactly how he felt at the time it was taken.
Despite the quite dramatic move Alisa had to make to get her father’s attention, the phone-throwing seemed to pay off, as Timati went on to post a video of himself and his little girl spending some quality time together.
Looking at his Instagram page, it seems the Russian singer wasn’t lost at all without his phone. He had lots of other toys to play with, including hover boards and wave riders.
But don’t worry, he didn’t leave Alisa out when he was taking part in those activities.
Although maybe he should have, because I’m not entirely sure how safe this is:
Some viewers are suggesting Timati and Alisa’s video might be staged – and I admit, the dad did have quite a lot of time to catch Alisa after she turned to head towards the edge of the boat.
Maybe the 34-year-old was just trying to get people to write about him. If so, he was very successful.
Whether it’s staged or not, the video makes for some entertaining viewing. While some people think the little girl’s actions were very impolite, I think she probably knew that her dad could afford to replace the drowned piece of tech.
