Zofia Dobek – Dagmara’s grandmother – has said she can’t understand why bullies would target her ‘darling’ girl.

Dobek, who still lives in Radgoszcz, west Poland, said through tears:

At the school you can now see there are heaps of flowers for her. But when she turned 16 no one even congratulated her.

I cannot understand this. Why? She was such a lovely girl, so full of life. She was such a beautiful, friendly and helpful person.

But I can’t understand why people didn’t like her. Now people are saying my granddaughter had mental health issues.

She had no such problems. How can people write such cruel things at a time like this?’

Whenever I spoke to her and saw her she was smiling and happy. She never told me she was having problems with bullies, perhaps she said something to her parents.

Dagmara’s father Jedrzej said:

I am in shock, but I am too upset to speak about it. I need more time and just need to be left alone for now.

I don’t know how she died as I need to talk to the police. I don’t know what happened. But I am in shock. That is all.

Dagmara previously responded to a question on ask.fm. that a problem she suffered at school was ‘racism’ and that it made her sad when people she considered friends said things behind her back.
