A generous man has become an internet hero after he was photographed buying an elderly lady’s groceries when her card was repeatedly declined.
Ryan O’Donnell was with his two children in Wyoming Coles, Australia, on Tuesday when he noticed a woman, who reminded him of his grandmother, struggling to pay her ‘less than $50’ grocery bill.
The 34-year-old stay at home father told the Daily Mail that he helped the lady because it was how his parents raised him.
A passerby saw the act of kindness and decided to post it to Twitter, saying:
This guy at Wyoming Coles who just went through the register with his two kids paid for this ladies groceries when her card kept declining
She wanted to pay him back eventually and he just said “Don’t worry, have a good day.

Ryan said:
Someone was trying to tell her to try different account and it didn’t work so they took her to the front area and I walked past and overheard
Realistically it was just because the lady reminded me of my mum and grandma and that’s how my mum and dad brought me up
If you can help, you do it where and when to the best of your ability.
The photo was retweeted over 200 times and had over 650 likes, with people praising the good news.
Love a good bit of faith restoration.
