The man claiming to be the killer behind the death of 22-year-old Melinda Vasilije posted a haunting message to the online platform, saying he was the one who murdered her.

At present, Canadian police are ‘evaluating’ the creepy post, which claims to have been uploaded by Canadian Ager Hasan, who is wanted over the stabbing of his girlfriend last week, the Independent reports.

Melinda was found, tragically stabbed to death in her apartment – which she is believed to share with her sister Anna –  in Kitchener, Ontario at 3am on 28th April.

Since the murder, the 24-year-old has fled America, despite being wanted for the ‘targeted’ attack.

Currently sitting in a hot tanning salon yet freezing my butt off…..

The creepy post on Reddit is titled ‘ Wanted for Kitchener murder my side’ and includes photos of the pair, as well as their possible last text exchange.

The post alleges the couple broke up following an argument, a number of weeks before she was stabbed, but on the night she died, the post claims they ‘cuddled, kissed and talked about everything.’

It continues to relay a chilling chain of events, claiming Melinda asked Hasan if he had slept with anybody else since her and then flew into a rage, grabbing a knife in her alleged anger.

The post – under the username Redasblue101 – then writes ‘Hasan’ stabbed her in self-defence.

It said:

The fact is no one is more destroyed than I am. She was more than a girlfriend, a soon to be fiance [sic], she was my everything. What happened that night was nothing but tragic.

Police say the 24-year-old subject was last seen at 10am the morning after his girlfriend’s murder, stealing a licence plate from a Walmart car park in Erie County, Pennsylvania, before putting it back onto his black 2016 Honda HRV, and then fleeing the country.

Alongside second-degree murder for his 22-year-old girlfriend, Hasan is also wanted for three counts of ‘breach of recognisance,’ in relation to a ‘domestic violence incident,’ in which he was arrested for two counts of assault during a break-in on April 3rd.

The post reads:

Melinda and I got into an argument via text and our relationship ended. I went to her apartment that day, to try and talk.

Upon arrival I was confronted by Anna’s brother and her boyfriend. A physical altercation [took] place and the police were involved.

Because of this incident, Hasan is believed to have been banned from contacting Melinda, but on the night she died, they believe he broke that order and entered her house.

The post continues:

She started freaking out. Wouldn’t say a word and just kept slapping me with tears in her eyes. Slaps turned into hits. I told her I was sorry but if she didn’t stop I’d do something back. She didn’t stop. I then stupidly pushed her, harder than I expected. She fell against the sink.

Almost out no where she grabs a knife by the sink. Initially I thought was just going to hold it to try and tell me to leave. She doesn’t. She comes at me in full force, aiming towards my face.

I tell her to stop. She doesn’t, I tried grabbing the knife but ended up cutting my hands. After a few cuts I lost it. I freaked out, I was scared and in a state of shock. Never in a hundred years did I think she would use a knife against me. Out of shock and fear I grab one. I hit her with it, almost blindly. A few times. I didn’t know what happened. I was confused, shocked and scared.

Snapchat filters ftw. #happyeaster ??

The post – which has since been taken down and the user suspended – explains how ‘Hasan’ intended to either kill himself or turn himself into police, but ‘wanted to get away for a few days before.’

Waterloo Regional police spokeswoman Cherri Greeno told Global News:

That said, information like this is potential evidence and, as such, needs to be authenticated and verified
We don’t want to jeopardise that process and cannot comment any further on evidence. We would continue to encourage Mr Hasan to turn himself in to US authorities.

A really disturbing case. Hopefully the killer will be caught and justice served for poor Melinda. RIP.
