All Potter fans know that there’s a difference from knowing what Hogwarts’ house you’re in and believing which house you’re in.
Thankfully the wonderful Pottermore site allows fans of the Wizarding World to work out, through a personality quiz, which of the four great houses they’ll be in.
The results can come as a shock though, someone who thought they were a brave Gryffindor may discover they’re a sneaky Slytherin.
Take a friend of mine who believed that he had all the qualities of a Ravenclaw, but when he popped on the sorting hat (did the Pottermore quiz) discovered to his horror that he was a Hufflepuff (‘what a load of old duffers’).
Despite that, you’d probably expect those who played the iconic wizarding school friends to have a pretty good idea what house they were in, wouldn’t you?
Well when Harry Potter alums Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) took the Pottermore test the results were surprising.
Loopy Luna Lovegood packed up her things from the Ravenclaw common room and went over to Gryffindor Tower. Meanwhile Ginny stayed exactly where she was in Gryffindor.
But it’s bad news for the Harry’s mates Ron and Neville, who were both sent packing to the house nobody wants to get, Hufflepuff. At least they’ve got a comfy common room near the kitchens?
For the record here in the UNILAD offices we’ve got a few gregarious Gryffindors, bright Ravenclaws, crappy Hufflepuffs but the majority are the best house Slytherin!
One day we’ll win that house cup!
More of a concept than a journalist, Tom Percival was forged in the bowels of Salford University from which he emerged grasping a Masters in journalism.
Since then his rise has been described by himself as ‘meteoric’ rising to the esteemed rank of Social Editor at UNILAD as well as working at the BBC, Manchester Evening News, and ITV.
He credits his success to three core techniques, name repetition, personality mirroring, and never breaking off a handshake.
