Fans of the Simpsons can relax, with the news that Harry Shearer – who voices characters such as Ned Flanders and Mr Burns – has decided to stay with the show after all.
The news comes seven weeks after he announced he would be leaving the show, to much dismay from fans of the series, but a u-turn has been announced this week, be it because of money or a PR stunt, and fans are delighted.
Shearer joins fellow stars Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Yeardley Smith, Nancy Cartwright, and Hank Azaria in penning new deals to carry on with the popular show, that has been on the box now for nearly 30 seasons.
The cast will now be together for four more seasons, with 27 and 28 guaranteed and an option for two more after that.
After the news was confirmed, Twitter reacted accordingly, with Shearer even responding to come fans who claimed his renewal was going to happen all along.
