Has A New James Bond Been Cast?

Speculation is rife that Tom Hiddleston is about to given a license to kill after a bookies suspended betting on who’s going to be the new James Bond. 

Ever since Daniel Craig claimed that he’d rather ‘slash his wrists’ than play the spy again, the world’s been wondering who’s going to don the international man of mystery’s iconic tuxedo, Yahoo reports.

A few names have been in the frame including, Damian Lewis, Tom Hardy, Idris Elba but Hiddleston’s been the favourite from the off, and now the bookmakers Coral have suspended betting on who will take over from Daniel Craig.

The star who’s best known for playing Loki in the Marvel movies was apparently the subject of a number of bets in the past 24 hours, making him the 2-1 favourite.

However after a particularly large bet Hiddleston’s odds plummeted to 1-2 and Coral were forced to suspended betting.

A Coral spokeswoman, Nicola McGeady,, said:

There is no smoke without fire, and following the big gamble on Tom Hiddleston in the last 24 hours, we’ve had no choice but to pull the plug on the market.

Earlier in the year there was a gamble on Idris Elba and Damian Lewis, but nothing has come close to the recent gamble on Hiddleston.

Earlier this week the 35-year-old was apparently spotted meeting Bond movie director Sam Mendes and the film’s producer Barbara Broccoli.

Hiddleston’s denied reports of him taking the job saying last month on Graham Norton’s show, ‘the position isn’t vacant as far as I am aware’.

However he has admitted to being interested in the role.
