Many fans were left wondering why in The Force Awakens, Rey is so powerful with The Force leading them to wonder if she was Luke Skywalker’s daughter.

But now one Reddit user who claimed to have read a leaked script has come up with the theory that she’s in fact not Luke’s daughter but actually the reincarnation of the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Vader..

The Redditor also claims that Episode VIII, which will be called Echoes of the Dark Side, will parallel the Empire Strikes Back in a more subtle way than Force Awakens echoed A New Hope.

He broke down the basic plot of the film explaining that Rey is training in the ways of the Force with Luke on a wild planet while Finn and Poe are in a beautiful city that has a shady, sinister underpinning.

Unfortunately Finn and Poe are betrayed and captured by Vader fan boy, Kylo Ren who uses them as bait to draw Rey out of hiding so he can avenge himself for the Starkiller Base defeat.

Rey is pissed at Luke because she guesses that he was her father and is angry at him for abandoning her. Luke turns to her and says ‘No, you are my father’.

Luke then explains that the ‘chosen one’ reincarnates every time that the universe is thrown out of balance, which is why she’s so strong.

Luke abandoned the Resistance to seek out the first Jedi temple to gain an understanding of how the reincarnation happened.

Apparently Rey, like Anakin before her is the product of a virgin birth, thankfully midichlorians aren’t mentioned.

Luke is also initially hesitant to train her because, according to Jedi history, the chosen one will always struggle with staying on the light side of the Force because of the power they possess and he’s afraid that the power could corrupt her into ‘Vader 2.0’.

Unfortunately the theory was very quickly debunked by Redditors, who quite rightly called it out on a few glaring errors.

Real or not at least it’s an entertaining read.
