Ingredients:
For the meatball:
– 1kg beef mince
– 2 tbsp garlic powder
– 2 tbsp oregano
– 2 tbsp smoked paprika
– 2 tbsp thyme
– Salt & pepper
– 2x balls mozzarella
For the marinara sauce:
– 2x cloves garlic (minced)
– 1x red chilli (finely chopped)
– 2tsp oregano
– 400g plum tomatoes
– Handful chopped basil leaves
To serve:
– Cooked spaghetti
– 100g grated parmesan
Method:
First, combine the mince with the garlic powder, oregano, smoked paprika, thyme, salt and pepper and form into a massive ball.
Next, cut the ball in two and flatten each half out. Then place the chopped up mozzarella on top of one half and lay the other over the top. Seal the cheese in, reform into a giant ball and bake at 180 degrees celsius for 30 minutes.
While the meatball is cooking, make the marinara sauce. Gently fry the garlic in a little oil, then add the chopped red chilli and the oregano.
Once everything has softened add the plum tomatoes and leave to simmer for around ten minutes, then add the chopped basil.
To serve, put the spaghetti in the bowl, followed by the sauce, then the meatball, then more sauce and finally the grated parmesan.
Now, enjoy!
