Charlie Sheen has finally revealed what caused his bizarre rant where he claimed to have ‘tiger blood’ and coined the now infamous catchphrase, ‘winning!’

Speaking to Dr. Mehmet Oz for an interview to air on The Dr. Oz Show the star revealed that he believes his erratic behaviour was caused by using too much testosterone cream, Fox News reports.

He explained:

It was a lot of highs and lows. I was taking a lot of testosterone cream, and I think I went too far with it. It was kind of like a borderline… not a ’roid rage, but a ’roid disengage.

For those who are sceptical that the cream could have this effect on Sheen it’s apparently a rare but very serious side effect of testosterone treatment.

The health website Healthline explains that while most men tolerate testosterone treatment quite well, a small number develop emotional side effects. These can include rapid mood swings and emotional overreaction to everyday situations, which sounds a lot like Sheen at the time.

The star, who’s now battling HIV, also explained that the time he felt ‘super human’ but now he ‘cringes a little’ when he looks back at that time of his life.
