A dad in Florida is being lauded after he stepped up to a gang of teenagers attempting to kidnap his daughter.

17-year-old Amber Brackney had tried to leave her family house on Preservation Path, Crestview when she came across a collection of barrels blocking her driveway on Tuesday night.

Amber managed to swerve the barrels and drive off down the road, according to The Daily Mail.

Bemused by the noise, her dad Terry Brackney, 51, got his gun and paced outside.

Funeral director, Brackney, found a group of teenagers trying to break into his garage.

Police believe the gang had ‘concocted a plan to kidnap the teenage daughter’ by making her leave her car to move the barrels from the driveway, so they could snatch her.

Acting fast, Brackney began shooting at the group. They soon ran off into the woods.

They found Keilon Johnson, 19, Austin French, 17, 16-year old Tyree Johnson, and 15-year old Kamauri Horn,

More disturbingly, they discovered a knife, guns and a roll of tape.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office in a statement:

The goal was to first force her out of her car by blocking the road with barrels and garbage cans. (However, their intended victim drove around the barrels and kept going.)

They then planned to head to her house, confront and subdue her father – who they believed to be wealthy – and rob the home.

The four defendants have been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted home invasion robbery.
