Christmas is right around the corner, so to celebrate the annual festival of excess why not treat yourself to the biggest Harry Potter LEGO set ever, Hogwarts Castle?

That’s right if you’ve ever dreamt of owning a slice of Wizarding World history you can treat yourself to a LEGO version of Hogwarts Castle in all its blocky glory.

The set, which is the second biggest ever made after the Ultimate Collector’s Series Millennium Falcon, is comprised of 6,020 individual pieces and is the most accurate LEGO recreation of Hogwarts ever.

The only problem? Well in the Wizarding World Hogwarts is pretty massive so even when it’s scaled down to LEGO figure size it would still be ginormous.

To get around this the clever LEGO engineers have cast ‘reducio’ and shrank the castle’s figures down to a scale that would allow you to fit the whole school of witchcraft and wizardry in your front room.

It’s not all bad though, these so-called ‘micro-figures’ are still pretty recognisable as the characters we know and love and include  Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Snape, McGonagall, Voldemort and loads more.

The castle also boasts a staggering number of rooms, locations and characters from the movies and books including: the Whomping Willow, Hagrid’s hut, dementors, boats, the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom, the Chessboard Chamber with chess pieces, the Room of Requirement, the Goblet of Fire, the Gryffindor common room with fireplace, Aragog the spider, a Hungarian Horntail dragon, Dumbledore’s office AND Umbridge’s pink office.

Also as a bonus, you get LEGO figure versions of the Hogwarts founders which is pretty cool.

The LEGO website description reads:

Make the magic come alive at the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle! This highly detailed LEGO Harry Potter collectible has over 6,000 pieces and offers a rewarding build experience.

It comes packed with highlights from the Harry Potter series, where you will discover towers, turrets, chambers, classrooms, creatures, the Whomping Willow and Hagrid´s hut, plus many more iconic features.

And with 4 minifigures, 27 microfigures featuring students, professors and statues, plus 5 Dementors, this advanced building set makes the perfect Harry Potter gift.

Unfortunately, if you fancy snapping one of these up you’re going to need a fair few galleons in the bank.

The whole set will cost you £349.99, that’s 70 galleons,  4 sickles and 22 knuts according to this random Harry Potter currency convertor someone made.

If you’re not as flush as a Malfoy or a Potter though don’t worry, there are plenty of more reasonably priced Harry Potter LEGO sets available to you including; the Hogwarts Express, Aragog’s Lair and even Hogwart’s Great Hall.

You could even treat yourself to some of the Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them sets if you wanted! LEGO really is magic.
