A manhunt is underway as Ohio police chase down the ‘Cleveland Killer’, a man suspected of killing an elderly man.
Steve Stephens, 37, is wanted on charges of aggravated murder in connection with the killing of Robert Godwin Sr in Cleveland, Ohio. Police claim Stephens shot the 74-year-old passer-by from his car, filming the shooting and posting the video to Facebook.
You can watch the footage Stephens posted to Facebook in this ABC News broadcast:
In further videos, Stephens allegedly claims to have killed 13 people and is ‘working on 14′.
While police have not verified this or tied Stephens to any other killings, residents of Pennsylvania, New York, Indiana and Michigan have been warned to be on high alert, as it is believed Stephens has left Ohio.
Stephens’ Facebook page has since been removed.
A Facebook spokesman said:
This is a horrific crime and we do not allow this kind of content on Facebook.
We work hard to keep a safe environment on Facebook, and are in touch with law enforcement in emergencies when there are direct threats to physical safety.
Robert Godwin Jr – the victim’s son – told Cleveland.com:
I haven’t watched the video. I haven’t even looked at my cellphone or the news. I don’t really want to see it.
Stephens went live on Facebook throughout the day saying he has ‘a lot of built up anger’ and claiming he ‘just snapped’.
Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased.
