Hugh Jackman Slams Ryan Reynolds’ Career In Brutal Video

By :

Of all the celebrity feuds simmering under the surface of Tinsel Town, none have proved more entertaining than Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ friendly enmity.

The entire thing seems born of Hugh’s (I met him once and he said I could call him Hugh) reluctance to reprise the role of Wolverine, despite Mr Reynolds’ (I’ve not met him) constant pestering.

Over the last few months, the two have repeatedly clashed on Twitter overall sorts of wonderful nonsense, including one bizarre attempt to drag The Office’s A Quiet Place’s John Krasinski into things.

And while you might expect the ever-acerbic Reynolds to trounce Hugh in a battle of wits, you should know by now to never rule Wolverine out in a fight thanks to that healing factor which allows him to return from even the worst of burns.

In fact, Hugh seems to have found the regenerating degenerate’s one weakness, Reynolds questionable (sh*t) career which Jackman alleges Ryan built by ‘riding his coattails’.

In a mock political advert posted to Hugh’s Twitter the famed Australian actor lays out his claim that his Canadian colleague is essentially a fraud and unworthy of the title of ‘world’s sexiest man’.

He says:

Ryan Reynolds may seem like an honest, hard-working movie star, husband, and father, but don’t let the facts get in the way of the truth. The truth?

He’s been riding Hugh Jackman’s coattails since 2009, when Hugh hand selected him to star in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in the universally acclaimed best portrayal of Wade Wilson ever. The truth? Ryan was only named People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2010, the year after he met Hugh. Coincidence? Please.

The truth? You can soon see Ryan in Once Upon a Deadpool and support the Fudge Cancer charity at the same time. Please do it, or he might make another Van Wilder movie. Or worse yet, Green Lantern

The video is a pretty brutal and hilarious takedown of everyone’s third favourite Canadian actor (Ryan Gosling’s in second place and Michael J. Fox is obviously first) but it also serves a good purpose.

It also helps Reynolds promote his upcoming film Once Upon A Deadpool, a recut version of Deadpool 2 for the PG-13 market, the proceeds of which are going to help the cancer charity F*ck Cancer!

Mr Reynolds is yet to respond to Hugh’s video but if we know Ryan (and we don’t because he won’t take our calls) he’ll no doubt be planning an amazing comeback.

Unfortunately no matter how much these two flirt Reynolds is unlikely to cajole Hugh into popping his claws again and reclaiming the mantle of Wolverine.

Hugh’s been emphatic that he will not play Wolverine again, so sorry Ryan, you’ll have to console yourself by making another Green Lantern movie? I hear that Warner Bros. are looking.

Once Upon A Deadpool will show in UK cinemas for one day only on December 11, so if you want to see it you’ll have to be quick.
