Humans Of New York Parody Account Rips Hipsters Apart

By :

Parody accounts on social media have to walk a pretty fine line to achieve genuine humour. There are thousands of them, with most falling wide of the mark. But Facebook page Millenials of New York has absolutely smashed it.

The page is based on the website Humans of New York, a catalogue of images of New Yorkers plus a titbit of information offering an insight into their lives. It’s pretty interesting as a project, but some of the posed photo’s have annoyingly X-Factor like back stories that make you question their sincerity.

Millenials of New York places images of the Big Apple’s many hipsters with ironic back stories that are hilarious, suggesting the shallow nature of certain members of the scene and highlighting awkward truths.
