A lot of stuff gets re-imagined in the super beefy Unreal Engine 4. Usually it’s classic videogame characters and locations, so I have to admit that I never thought we’d see Monica’s apartment from Friends get the Unreal treatment.
As you can see from the video below, it does look super realistic. Not as realistic as the apartment from the actual show (obviously), but it’s fun to see this version all the same. It’s the closest we’ll probably ever get to a Friends videogame.
According to developer (5teven94), this was part of a university project and was put together over the course of three months. Watch it. Watch it and be hit in the feels by ten years of comedy memories.
Clearly, a huge amount of love and detail has been put into remaking the apartment. From the the photos of the gang on the fridge, to the insane amount of canned goods on the shelf (seriously, is Monica stockpiling for a nuclear war?).
5teven94 said that he’d like to do a bit more work on it (since we can’t see into the bedrooms or bathroom right now) but given the amount of time that’d probably take, it’s not likely.

After graduating from the University of Portsmouth in 2015 with a BA in Journalism & Media Studies (thanks for asking), he went on to do some freelance words for various places, including Kotaku, Den of Geek, and TheSixthAxis, before landing a full time gig at UNILAD in 2016.
