Award-winning actor Idris Elba is officially off the market.
That’s right everyone, get the ice cream out and prepare to cry your sorrows away, as it’s been confirmed Elba has gotten married in a secret ceremony.
The Luther actor and his wife, Sabrina Dhowre, were all smiles in a stunning picture which has been posted on social media following the ceremony.
Elba married long-term girlfriend Sabrina in a private ceremony, as reported by Vogue, in a beautiful Moroccan wedding. The couple got engaged in 2018 and exchanged vows on April 26 at the Ksar Char Bagh hotel in Marrakesh.
In true Idris Elba style, the celebrations were spread out over three days, with friends and family attending a ‘colours of the Souk’ themed dinner the night before at the Amanjena.
Today, the happy couple (and the guests, obviously) will attend an all-white party at the Mandarin Oriental, which will be festival themed so you can expect the celebrations to continue.
While Elba wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng, Dhowre looked stunning in not one, but two, Vera Wang custom-made dresses.
For the ceremony, the bride wore a classic off-the-shoulder white A-line gown. She then changed into a V-neck style embroidered dress with pearls and gemstones.
But who cares about what they wore?! What’s important is how madly in love the two looked, with both gazing happily into each other’s eyes and looking ridiculously in love in every picture taken.
The exciting news was announced by Vogue, who covered the newlywed’s big day in their latest issue.
They wrote on their Instagram page:
Congratulations to newlyweds #IdrisElba and #SabrinaDhowre who exchanged vows in Morocco on April 26 2019. Celebrations were spread over three days in Marrakech. See more in the world exclusive in the July 2019 issue of #BritishVogue.
Elba, 46, and Dhowre, 29, met in 2017 in Canada while he was filming The Mountain Between Us. The actor has previously spoke about what it was like to fall in love while making a film about falling in love, telling People TV it was ‘pretty special’.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
