This brave Italian girl was trapped in the earthquake debris for 17 hours before firefighters made a heroic rescue.

The death toll has risen to almost 25o and an estimated 150 people are still missing after the fatal disaster in mountainous central Italy, the BBC reports.

The quake, 6.2 on the Richter Scale, hit at 03:36 (01:36 GMT) on Wednesday, ruining the towns of Amatrice, Accumoli and Pescara del Tronto.

Over 4,300 rescuers are digging with their bare hands to try and save others like the 10-year-old girl in this video:

In the video you see her dust-covered body start to emerge, as firefighters frantically scrape away the debris, and finally she is lifted out of the hole.

Everyone cheered and clapped as she was found alive in the town of Pescara Del Tronto and taken to a nearby hospital.

It restores my faith in humanity when in times of such trauma and disaster, everyone is coming together and searching around the clock through the debris.

Massive respect to everyone involved in the efforts to find more survivors! Our thoughts are with you all.
