BBCA decade after the first Planet Earth series was filmed, the UK’s favourite national treasure Sir David Attenborough is back to narrate the lives of some of the world’s most incredible creatures with Planet Earth 2.
The new docu-series will have six episodes, each just under an hour long. And just like the first Planet Earth, each week will highlight life in a different environment, from mountains to islands to jungles.
The first episode officially airs this Sunday at 8pm, but if you can’t wait that long, here are a few screenshots to keep you busy.

As for the stunning footage, Attenborough said:
The technology and the shots are unparalleled. You couldn’t do them 10 years ago. It’s very important television should, every now and again, take an in-depth view of something.
