We all know Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t short of money, so when I found out he had just splashed $18.5million (£11.8m) on one of the most luxurious New York apartments ever, I wasn’t surprised whatsoever.
The 30-year-old Portugal and Real Madrid footballer acquired the spot in Trump Tower, owned by US tycoon and surprise presidential candidate Donald Trump, which resides on Fifth Avenue in the Big Apple.
Obviously, the news has also fuelled rumours that Ronaldo is planning a future retirement move to the MLS when his playing days in Spain come to a close, and if you’re going to live in the U.S. at any point, this is THE place to call home.
Every single room has incredible views of New York City, including a beautiful view of Central Park. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this?
According to multiple news outlets, the 2,509 square foot apartment was also the inspiration for Christian Grey’s abode in the novel-turned-movie, Fifty Shades of Grey, which I’m sure CR7 will be mentioning to his lady-friends…
