Instagram just stole a very big idea from Snapchat and made perhaps the biggest change in their entire history – stories.
According to The Independent, the company is now adding a new feature which will essentially change the entire dynamics of Instagram and completely change their layout.
Taking from Snapchat, the photo sharing giants are now allowing users to follow certain people whom they’ll be able to view the stories of.

And as if that wasn’t enough copying for one day, Instagram have also designed some new features so that you can easily draw and write on top of your pictures.
It’s reported that on the new version of the app, at the top of your screen will be a horizontal list of all the people you follow accompanied by a profile picture, and by clicking on their profile picture you’ll be taken directly to their story.
In a statement, the company said:
With Instagram Stories, you don’t have to worry about over-posting. Instead, you can share as much as you want to throughout the day — with as much creativity as you want.
You can bring your story to life in new ways with text and drawing tools. The photos and videos will disappear after 24 hours and won’t appear on your profile grid or in feed.
Anything that’s posted to a story can then be either posted straight to your Instagram or downloaded to be used elsewhere.
It’s thought that the feature will be out soon with an update in the app stores on iOS and Android.
