So there’s flowing water on Mars, apparently.
That’s what we learned from NASA’s major announcement today, and it could even point to the possibility of life on Mars. Although, it’ll probably be microbial rather than little green lads running about, which is a bit of a letdown.
Besides the announcement breaking the internet, and the live stream of the press conference being fairly dreadful, we were able to discern that as scientific discoveries go, this is pretty massive.
And, naturally, Twitter was quick to react to the Red Planet’s big news.
Many people were disappointed there were no actual aliens involved…
Please be aliens, please be aliens, please be aliens… #NASA

NASA is all tease. Shut up until you have aliens.
— Hayley Campbell (@hayleycampbell) September 28, 2015
NASA should only hold press conferences when they find aliens. Not when they find something we have so much of we literally swim in it.
— Trent (@BarstoolTrent) September 28, 2015
Alright @NASA just tell us where the aliens are

Apparently #NASA are revealing a 'major science finding' today.
Aliens or GTFO

Or Doctor Who, for that matter…

I'm assuming that's it's too early to say whether those Martian water zombies from Doctor Who are responsible. #Mars

Although running water on Mars is exciting, I'm still kinda disappointed that #NASA's 'big announcement' wasn't this pic.twitter.com/YocaLow8dD

Some even wondered whether the timing of NASA’s announcement was deliberate…
NASA's Mars announcement is likely just hype surrounding the Martian debut in theaters this week

Today NASA announce water discovered on Mars. Tomorrow, The Martian movie released. Coincidence or best PR stunt in history? #journeytomars

Revised screenplay for "The Martian":
NASA head: "I would like to report that Mark Watney is –"

I bet #MattDamion is happy NASA announced the Mars findings. Or maybe #Nasa is working with movie studio to release the Martian movie now.

The production company behind Martian will be thanking all their lucky stars right now!

And then things just got very silly indeed…

Nasa traces water stream on Mars to its source, thereby terribly embarrassing the Martian who, NASA quotes, "just really had to go ok geeze"

So today NASA announced who Ronnie Pickering is…
