The much-touted Friends reunion finally happened last night but it seems a lot of fans weren’t particularly impressed with the two-hour special.

Lets not forget this was all part of an All-Star Tribute to TV director James Burrows and we knew it could never be the Friends reunion we’d all been hoping for since May 2004, especially as Matthew Perry bailed.

The special – which commemorated the 1,000th episode of TV that Burrows has directed – reunited stars from his most famous shows; Cheers, Taxi, Frasier, Mike & Molly, Will & Grace, The Big Bang Theory and of course, Friends.

As five out of the six took to the stage looking quite a bit older, they were supposed to be sharing a few of their favourite moments. But, to be honest, they didn’t reveal anything particularly new.

We learned that Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow had lunch together on set every single day for 10 years, and that they always ate the same thing: a ‘Jennifer salad’. Though we never found out what was in it- shame.

Oh and Burrows got LeBlanc to let a hockey puck fly in his face. Exciting times.

We are pretty much clutching at straws here, so it’s fair to say it just wasn’t very funny, at all. Bar the five fighting for their spot on the couch and doing a little dance to jostle for position, it was all just a bit awkward.

Interluded with stale pre-recorded messages, a shit load of ads and impersonations of a guy we don’t know particularly well- it didn’t seem to be what a lot of fans were after- that’s if these tweets are anything to go by:

Accurate, to be fair. But others were just happy to see the gang back together again:

And one simply asked why there was one important person missing from all this:

I can’t see these guys getting back together again anytime soon.
