A hummus bar in Israel wants to do its part to promote peace in the area, so it is offering huge discounts for people who can put their BS aside and break bread together.

The restaurant is called Hummus Bar and its located near the coastal city of Netanya. It is giving 50% off meals to customers who have different faiths, but will happily enjoy a chick-pea meal side by side.

The restaurant is proudly advertising its peaceful deal through their facebook page.

One post translates to “Scared of Arabs? Scared of Jews? By us we don’t have Arabs! But we also don’t have Jews!  By us we’ve got human beings!”

“And real excellent Arab hummus! And great Jewish falafel! And a free refill for every serving of hummus, whether you’re Arab, Jewish, Christian, Indian etc.”

Hummus Bar started its advertising campaign on October 13 and apparently the restaurant has enjoyed some success with the promotion.

Manager Kobi Tzafrir told the Times of Israel that by the post-lunch rush they had served tables with both Jews and Arabs.

According to Mr Tzafrir the initiative is being well received by all religions.

Jews and Arabs are able to share the food because the kitchen is Kosher and Halal.

“If there’s anything that can bring together these peoples, it’s hummus,” Mr Tzafrir said.

I love it when people do whatever they can to work towards peace, whether it’s big steps or baby steps, it all counts. Top work!
