J.K. Rowling Reveals New Wizarding Schools And They Sound Amazing

Just when you think J.K. Rowling has spilled the beans on everything you need to know about the wizarding world she comes out with another surprise…

We already know that her website, Pottermore, was redesigned and relaunched in September last year and after months of waiting, on Thursday, the site revealed its new version of the sorting quiz.

Everyone lost their minds a little bit, but last night, J.K. dropped something even bigger: the names and details of new, never before seen wizarding schools.

Pretty exciting, right?

Announcing the news on Pottermore, J.K. revealed the existence of Mahoutokoro School, in Japan, Brazil’s Castelobruko, and Uagadou, located on the African continent.

She also revealed some pretty sweet details about these new schools. Like Uagadou, specialise in wandless magic, while students at Maoutokoro get robes their first year that grow with them and change colours based on how much they’ve learned.

Oh, and before we forget. J.K. revealed the name of an American school, Ilvermorny, which may appear in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

We also now know that there are 11 wizarding schools in existence, so for those keeping count (a lot of you I’m sure), that still leaves four to be unveiled.

With all this new stuff coming out it looks like we’ll have plenty of new excuses to never outgrow Harry Potter.
