The TV host was reduced to tears when legendary singer Stevie Wonder serenaded his wife down the phone, singing a special version of ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You’ that went: ‘I just called to say, James loves you. I just called to say how much he cares’.
Corden got Wonder to ring his wife of three years, Julia, as he didn’t think she believed they were actually in a car together.
The pair got on well, and the singer suggested they start a new supergroup called The Wondercats. They sang a number of Wonder’s hits, including Isn’t She Lovely, Superstition, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, For Once In My Life and Sir Duke.
I’m not a massive fan of James Corden, but that was actually pretty funny – the overall video, not him crying, I’m not that ruthless.
