The actor who plays Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones has spoken out amidst a hacking saga at channel HBO – that has seen an episode leaked four days early, among stolen data and social media passwords.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau told EW Morning Live things have been ‘tense’ since hackers took over, saying ‘everyone connected to HBO are getting calls telling them their e-mails have been compromised’.

Hackers stole data including GoT scripts and although many fans are trying to avoid spoilers, there are plenty online.

He said:

HBO was hacked by the so-called ‘Mr Smith Group’ who already stole 1.5 terabytes of data, including scripts from Game Of Thrones as well as personal employee data, social media passwords and in fresh reports, they’ve released even more information.
HBO
The station released an earlier statement:

We are not in communication with the hacker and we’re not going to comment every time a new piece of information is released.

It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention. That’s a game we’re not going to participate in.

These hackers need to quit now.
