Jamie Oliver really isn’t happy with Boris Johnson potentially becoming British prime minister in the aftermath of the EU referendum.

Pleading with and echoing the views of many among the British public, Oliver begged the UK to stop ‘Boris fucking Johnson’ from becoming Britain’s next PM.

Johnson, a leading figure in the Brexit campaign and flamboyant former mayor of London, is – unfortunately to most – the overwhelming favourite to succeed David Cameron when he steps down.

But in an Instagram post, Oliver, who voted Remain, said that while he could live with the decision of Britain leaving the EU, he could not handle Boris Johnson being handed the keys to No 10, the Guardian reports.

A thought for Great Britain… PLEASE READ.. For the last two years, I have been filming all over the world in places where people live the longest, healthiest, happiest and most productive lives studying there food and culture. And now I finish my journey on the beautiful island of Sardinia, where at the end of the day’s filming, as the sun set – I looked back and saw the European flag. For me.. symbolic and very sad. But in life you don’t always get what you want. So guys, whether you voted In or Out, we are where we are. But at some point soon we all need to come back together and make the best of what will be a very bumpy 5 years. This referendum has fractured Europe, divided families and split the country. The divorce of our European marriage will be very costly and provoke a bitterness towards us as a trusted country in the world…However I do believe in democracy and Britain has spoken. In my own way I will now roll up my sleeves and work harder than ever to make this work. But I BEG YOU ONE THING GREAT BRITAIN ???? Give me Boris fucking Johnson as our Prime Minister and I’m done. I’m out. My faith in us will be broken forever. So speak up people – let’s stop being spectators! We can not let this happen- share the shit out of this !! #BuggerOffBoris  Trust and building relationships with other country’s is the only currency that really works. (Tune — #TemperTrap)

It’s probably fair to say these comments aren’t far off from the views of a lot of people in Britain right now.

The message, entitled ‘A thought for Great Britain’, was posted on Instagram on Monday morning. It’s already been viewed by more than 268,000 people.

And the people seem to agree:

Oliver has hinted at his obvious disdain for Boris Johnson in the past when he announced his intention to vote Remain last week.

At the time, he wrote on Instagram:

I simply don’t have faith or confidence in the individuals heading up the out campaign to see this through. The EU isn’t perfect but I think we’re stronger together.

Hi guys like many of you I’ve been thinking long and hard about the right way to vote in tomorrow’s EU referendum. The most important thing is we all vote and have our say and what ever happens there is still lots of work to do.I kept an open mind but now for me and with out question I’m voting IN…. I’m IN as a very proud Brit and European. IN as an Employer of over 3000 dedicated hardworking people… I’m IN as a father who wants my kids to grow up in what I believe will be a more stable and robust country with more opportunity to travel and learn and Im IN as a passionate campaigner of Child Health at a truly pivotal moment in time where I think real change and joined up thinking to have a healthier more prosperous country is closer than ever before. From my experience I simply don’t have faith or confidence in the individuals heading up the Out campaign to see this through. The EU isn’t perfect but I think we’re stronger together lots of love jamie oxx

Unfortunately though, the ability of Oliver (or the public) to stop Johnson may be pretty limited considering the next prime minister won’t be chosen by the British public, but by Conservative MPs and party members.

But despite Johnson being the bookies’ (unfortunate) favourite, he’ll still face a battle to be the next Tory leader. The home secretary, Theresa May, who took a low-key role in the Remain campaign, is also a frontrunner for PM.

Neither of them, however, would probably be Britain’s number one choice for the country’s next leader.
