Jeremy Kyle’s Divorce Is Like An Episode Of His TV Show

Poisonous air-horn Jeremy Kyle and his wife Carla Germaine have ended their 13-year marriage in a 20-second divorce hearing.

The couple were granted a quickie separation at the London Central Family Court – although neither of the pair attended the hearing.

According to the Press Association paperwork filed by Germaine, she was petitioning for divorce on the grounds of Kyle’s ‘unreasonable behaviour’. The marriage will be formally ended in about six weeks time.

The development seems pretty ironic after Kyle made his name ‘presenting’ his controversial daytime ITV chat show, where he gives guests ‘life advice’ following their relationship breakdowns, addiction and other issues.

As is the case with so many of the stories on his show, the divorce seems to have an element of the ‘he said, she said’ about it.

Germaine cited Kyle’s drinking as a major factor in the breakdown of their marriage, mentioning the time he got drunk and argued with her in public at the Windsor races – although she says that wasn’t the first time his drinking got out of hand.

However, it seems that Germaine had been having a three-year affair with 25-year-old polo player James Carr, although sources close to the pair say that wasn’t what caused the marriage to falter.

Kyle released a statement saying:

After 13 years of generally happy marriage my wife and I, Carla, have separated amicably. We have sadly grown apart in recent years and have been living apart since early last summer.

The ethics of Kyle’s show and the vulnerability of the guests are often brought into question.

In fact, according to the Independent, a judge sentencing a former guest on the show said in his sentencing remarks:

This show is a human form of bear-baiting which goes under the guise of entertainment.

Maybe Kyle could be a guest on his own show and tear himself apart from the inside out – or at least just shout progressively louder at himself until security are forced to remove him.
