A Jeremy Kyle guest has been jailed for beating his wife after she failed to pass a lie detector test on the ITV daytime talk show.
Alan Kent, 38, has been handed down a 16-week prison sentence, fined £100 and ordered to pay £200 in costs, after he beat up his wife in what was dubbed a ‘hostage situation’ at the couple’s home in Colchester, Essex.
Kent won the affections of Kyle back in February when he showed up on set accusing his wife, Louise, of infidelity after he caught her sneaking ‘sexy clothes out of the house’.
The Mormon man appeared in a three-piece suit for the segment, during which Kyle told him he was ‘barking mad’ and told him, ‘I love you’ after his wife failed the lie detector tests.
Not long after the show, armed police were called to the home Kent shared with his wife and two children, as the man had barricaded himself inside and was threatening to take his own life over Louise’s alleged cheating.
Kent was also told he must pay £100 in compensation to PC Scott, for obstructing police justice, as well as £100 to Louise Kent.
He was also given a 12-month restraining order and told he must complete a 30-day Rehabilitation Activity Requirement to help him address his behaviour.
