Jurassic World 3 Release Date Set For June 2021

The original Jurassic Park is one of my favourite action films of all time, as well as the first movie to genuinely scare me silly.

The refreshed trilogy for the modern age kicked off with 2015’s Jurassic World, with the pressure piled on to appease the franchise’s legion of cinema-seat palaeontologists.

This first return to the safety-regulation-defying theme park thankfully retained plenty of the uniquely suspenseful feel of the originals; without relying solely on the copious fuel of nineties kid nostalgia.

Okay yes, Bryce Dallas Howard was running away from carnivorous dinosaurs in high heels and yes I’m still not sure exactly what Chris Pratt was training the velociraptors for.

But all things considered, this was a gripping outing which opened up plenty more themes to explore within the dinosaur cloning, slow learning universe.

And – even before we buy our popcorn for the upcoming first sequel – we already have a release date for the second sequel.

Universal Pictures have now tweeted, ‘Jurassic World 3 will be released June 11, 2021.’ An adventure three years in the making…

Although this may seem like ages away, it suddenly all feels much more real; like seeing those first few ethically unsound cracks in a lab warmed dinosaur egg.

According to IMDB, Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow will be returning as executive producers, with Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley returning as producers.

Emily Carmichael (co-writer on Pacific Rim: Uprising) will write the film alongside Trevorrow. As of yet, no director has been specified; a role which of course requires Indominus rex levels of responsibility.

Trevorrow told Variety:

It’s important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive,

I’m thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to ‘Fallen Kingdom,’ and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy.

In the meantime, the second instalment Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will be hitting cinemas June 2018, and looks set to be the ideal summer blockbuster.

This new film will see our new heroes Owen Grady (Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Dallas Howard) rescue the Isla Nublar bound dinosaurs from an impending volcanic eruption.

How exactly anybody is going to stuff that bus sized Tyrannosaurus Rex into a rescue helicopter is anyones business, but as we have all learnt from renowned chaos theorist Dr Ian Malcolm, ‘life will find a way’.

As of yet, plot details for Jurassic World 3 have yet to be released.

However it is said Carmichael and Trevorrow will build on a story originally dreamed up by Trevorrow and his writing partner Derek Connolly.

Let’s head on over to the decidedly treacherous tourist destination Isla Nublar with the trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom:

Dino heads have been understandably stirred by this news, much as if they can already hear John Williams rousing score breezing over the tropical mountain tops.

Calendars marked! Welcome to the Jurassic family Emily. Best of luck to you and Colin! I know you guys are gonna knock it outta the park!

However, a hard to please yet imaginative fan boldly stated:

Jurassic World 3 better be set millions of years in the future with dinosaur scientists that bring humans back to life and then the humans f*ck up the whole planet.

Otherwise I’m not interested.

As of yet, there is no confirmation of any Jeff Goldblum cameos in Jurassic World 3, however I will be keeping my scaly claws crossed.
