Justin Bieber has proved the limits of his apparent talents live on stage in an embarrassing display of ignorance.
The Canadian pop-star forgot the lyrics to the song Despacito, falling at pretty much the first hurdle in the race to being a half-decent performing artist.
Justin Bieber features in the track, which has topped charts and made history as the first mostly-Spanish song to reach number one in 20 years.
It should be a momentous occasion, long overdue, and a huge win for Spanish language music and performing artists.
But, along comes Bieber, the featured guest featured guest on Despacito, a remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s classic, to ruin it for everybody as he performed live on Tuesday night at 1 OAK in New York.
You can watch the moment Justin fluffs his words in the clip, courtesy of TMZ, below:
Feel free to judge the moment Bieber replaces the Spanish lyrics with: “Blah blah blah…”
At least we can all take solace in the fact that it’s actually the most profound the billionaire has been in some time – it’s just a shame the rarity happens to coincide with causing offence to an entire culture.
Bravo, Bieber… Bravo.
