Kim Kardashian has enlisted the help of her lawyer to help free Cyntoia Brown – the woman who has been jailed for killing a man who picked her up for sex when she was just 16-years-old.

Cyntoia was given a life sentence in 2004 for shooting Nashville estate agent Johnny Allen.

At the time of the killing, Cyntoia was being pimped out by her violent boyfriend – a man by the name of ‘Kut Throat’ – and claims she killed Mr Allen because of fear he was going to hurt her.

Cyntoia’s story isn’t the only legal case the Kardashian has being assisting with.

In regards to Alice Johnson – a former Fed-Ex worker who helped transfer messages between members of a cocaine ring in the 1990s – Kim Kardashian asked her lawyer to help with her life sentence.

Johnson has spent 21 years behind bars and is now a 62-year-old grandmother – it was her first-time, nonviolent drug conviction.

The Tennessee mother of four took full responsibility for the crime two decades ago, explaining it was a mistake she’d made after falling on hard times.

Shawn Holley – Kim Kardashian’s lawyer – was on a team that defended OJ Simpson during his trial for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman.

Speaking about Kim’s involvement with these cases, Holley said, according to the Daily News:

Kim asked me several weeks ago how she could help Alice Johnson in her fight for justice. We then began corresponding with Alice and her team of lawyers.

Since then, Kim has championed the cause of Cyntoia Brown and asked me to help her get involved in that effort as well.

In a Twitter post, which has been re-tweeted over 220,000 times, Kardashian wrote:

The system has failed. It’s heart breaking to see a young girl sex trafficked, then when she has the courage to fight back, is jailed for life!

We have to do better & do what’s right. I’ve called my attorneys yesterday to see what can be done to fix this.

Cyntoia, who is now 29-years-old, has spent more than a decade in prison for killing the 43-year-old.

Kim Kardashian is just one of several high-profile individuals who’ve expressed support for Brown.

Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, LeBron James and Snoop Dogg have also shared posts calling for her release.

Rihanna wrote to her millions of followers on Instagram:

Something is horribly wrong when the system enables these rapists and the victim is thrown away for life!

Her message was accompanied by a photo of Brown and went on to explain how Brown was convicted as an adult and won’t be eligible for parole until she’s 69 years old.

Nashville lawyer, Charles Bone, who took Brown’s case, pro bono, seven years ago, told The New York Times:

We were very, very appreciative of the fact that such an incredible number of celebrities would join our plea. She was thrilled by the fact that people really cared.

Holley, is considered a high-profile and highly respected lawyer in Hollywood, previously working for the likes of Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie.

Brown has completed her Associate’s degree behind bars and is reportedly working on her Bachelor’s.

She also works as an unpaid consultant for the Juvenile Justice system.
