Kim Kardashian-West is finally telling her side of the story.
After months of speculation, the reality star set the record straight by recounting the horrific night she was robbed at gunpoint on Sunday’s episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
Kim was gagged, bound and threatened at gunpoint after armed men broke into her Paris apartment last year and stole an estimated $10 million worth of jewellery.
There were 17 arrested in connection to the incident, with 10 charged so far.
Kim recalled hearing footsteps while she was in bed. When she called out, there was no response.
“And then at that moment, when there wasn’t an answer, my heart started to get really tense,” she said. “I knew something wasn’t quite right.”
Two men dressed in then walked inside her room while holding another man down, who turned out to be the hotel’s concierge, handcuffed and holding the key to the room.
“What I’ve heard from talking to him afterward is they said, you know, ‘Where’s the rapper’s wife? Let us up to her room!’ in French,” Kim said. “He ended up being our interpreter because I couldn’t understand them, they couldn’t understand me.”
After the concierge told her to give them her engagement ring, they dragged her out to the hallway at the top of the stairs.
The 36-year-old revealed with sisters Khloe and Kourtney beside her:
I was looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs. I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision. Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back—it makes me so upset to think about it—but either they’re going to shoot me in the back or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator doesn’t open in time or the stairs are locked, then I’m fucked. There’s no way out.
She was then taken back into the room.
Kim described one of the men putting duct tape over her mouth to stop her from yelling.
Saying she ‘mentally prepared herself to be raped’, Kim added:
He grabs my legs, and I wasn’t, you know, I had no clothes on under. He pulled me toward him at the front of the bed and I thought, ‘Okay, this is the moment they’re going to rape me.’
I fully mentally prepped myself – and then he didn’t. He duck taped my legs together and had the gun up to me. I knew that was the moment they’re just totally going to shoot me in the head.
I just prayed that Kourtney‘s going to have a normal life after she sees my dead body on the bed…like, I’m not going to make it out of here. I know how these things go.
After living through the horrific incident, Kim said she was grateful to have the support and love of her family. She said: “It’s all replaceable. None of it matters.”
No matter your opinion on the Kardashians, no one should have to go through an ordeal like that.
