As we’ve pretty much come to expect from the heady mixture of high-profile celebrities and social media, anything which gets posted online can cause a wave of both positive and negative reactions.

One such post was Kylie Jenner’s Father’s Day tribute to her dad who, at the time the photos were taken, was Bruce, but is now Caitlyn Jenner.

Posting on Instagram to her 110million followers, Kylie shared a series of photos of her, her sister Kendall and their dad from when the siblings were babies and toddlers.

Jenner’s post was simply captioned:

so lucky to have you

On first inspection, the comment and picture would seem to be fairly commonplace on Father’s Day.

However, some followers of the family disagreed, suggesting the photos were disrespectful as all the pictures were of Bruce and not Caitlyn.

so lucky to have you ✨

But you posted no pictures of him as a woman now, I expected to see one of you n her as well but since you didn’t it must mean something to you to have dad that stays a man. Otherwise u would post him now as a woman since he is still your dad. [sic]

Another added:

I was thinking the same and it’s a legitimate question. Even when people post old pics, usually when they post multiple, they will post at least one current pic.

Someone else, getting personal with Kylie, said:

Why didn’t you post recent photos of his? Are too embarassed? [sic]

Yet others were quick to point out perhaps Caitlyn Jenner should be celebrated at Mother’s Day instead of Father’s day, due to the gender change.

One person simply said:

U meant happy Mother’s Day

While another added:

Caitlyn is a mom now don’t be disrespectful

Fortunately, there were people sticking up for Kylie’s decision to post the pictures, pointing out that, after all, Caitlyn still raised the kids as their father, reports SomeCards.

One person commented:

People can be so hateful. If she wants to call him dad let here!!! And if she wants to post pics of him prior to the change then let her!!! She doesn’t need to call him Mom. She already has a mom. And Caitlyn will always be her dad! [sic]

Another added:

He will always be their dad. No matter what changes he chose to do. It’s his life and that doesn’t take away the fact he’s a good parent. [sic]

Earlier this year, Kylie announced she’d no longer be posting pictures of her own daughter, Stomi, on social media.

Throughout her pregnancy, the reality TV star shied away from the limelight, choosing to go through the experience relatively privately.

Explaining her decision on Instagram, Kylie said:

I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions. I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. my pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world.

Being such a high-profile star as the Kardashian/Jenners are, it seems everything they post online will attract a certain amount of feedback, both good and bad.
