Love Island Hopeful Spent £15K On Surgery, Got Rejected For Third Time

By :

A Love Island hopeful spent all of her savings on surgery in the hope of appearing on the show, only to be rejected for a third time.

Emily Dorrell, 27, had been rejected from appearing on the reality TV show two times before she made the decision to go under the knife, thinking it would give her a chance to impress producers.

However, after spending a massive £15,000 on a boob lift, a boob reduction and a Brazilian butt lift, the 27-year-old is still no closer to achieving her dream.

Emily, who works in a tanning shop, thought appearing on Love Island could ‘kick start’ her career as it has done with previous contestants.

However, despite spending all her savings on plastic surgery – even spending the money she’d saved up for a house deposit – the 27-year-old will not be travelling to Majorca this summer.

Emily told Closer Online:

I thought the show could kick-start my career – maybe I’d get a fashion line – so I spent the £15,000 I had in savings on the surgery.

I thought it was an investment in my future; I’ve seen girls like Olivia Attwood go on to have great careers and make money, so I’d love to emulate that.

Now, I love my new body, but it didn’t work – I’m still not going to be on TV. I was saving for a house deposit. Now all that cash has been squandered, and I’m stuck wasting my money on rent.

The 27-year-old explained how she used to be a size 14 with JJ boobs; ‘not the skinny look you see on Love Island,’ she continued.

Emily, who lives in Coventry with her son Oliver, five, admits she’s been obsessed with the show ever since it began. Having applied for the show two times previously and having never heard anything back, the single mum messaged the official Love Island Instagram account in January, asking them to consider her.

Immediately after sending off her application for this year’s show, Emily decided on the surgery and had a Skype consultation with a surgeon one month later, in February.

Emily told Closer:

I asked them to think about making me an Islander. I’m bubbly and good fun, so I’d be perfect.

I was so excited when I got a reply from a producer to say they’d look out for my application, as I thought it meant I might be in for a chance – they were so friendly.

I know a lot of the Love Island stars have had surgery, so I wanted to maximize my chances by making sure I looked like them. Really big boobs like mine aren’t in fashion. I also wanted a skinny waist and pert bottom.

The mum-of-one described how she flew to Marbella for the six-hour operation in March, before recovering in a luxury villa which was attended by nurses.

Emily admitted her mum wasn’t pleased with her decision – in fact, she described her as ‘furious’ – even calling her behaviour ‘selfish’.

Although she ultimately felt guilty for leaving her son with her mum while she had the procedures, she says she thought it was worth it because she ‘was investing in a future for us’.
