Paco, a Hurricane Katrina rescue dog, was found lying in the spot his owner was killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident on Friday morning.
Kelly Black was sadly hit and killed by a truck whilst walking her dog, Paco, in Jacksonville, Florida. Following the incident, Paco was discovered lying in the road by relatives, near where Kelly was killed.
Action News Jacksonville reports that Kelly, 42, is believed to have been struck in a nearby paring lot, and dragged into the road by the truck. Kelly’s family have said she and Paco were inseparable.
Kelly’s father, G.C. Bostick said:
I don’t see how someone could hit her here and drag her all the way out to Beaver St. and not have known it. I just don’t know how I’m going to tell her mama.
Police have obtained CCTV footage of the accident, though it’s thought the driver might not have known they’d hit Kelly. Our thoughts go out to Kelly’s family at this sad time.
