Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams has hit out at the Mail Online for writing a piece about her turning up to a charity event ‘braless’.
Joined by a handful of celebrities at an auction to celebrate 30 years of the helpline service, Childline, Williams attended the NSPCC‘s Summer Masquerade Ball in Bath on Saturday 4 June.
But, rather than writing about the fundraising achievements or Williams’ contribution to the charity, the Mail Online piece focused on the actress attending the event ‘braless’ in a ‘sheer lace dress’. Riveting news.
After spotting the story online, Williams called the newspaper out on its headline and offered an alternative instead, proving she’s just as no-nonsense in real life as she is in Westeros.
She tweeted the article alongside the caption: “Alternative: Game of Thrones actor, Maisie Williams, helps raise thousands at a Summer Masquerade Ball for @NSPCC.”
