Making A Murderer: Steven Avery Sends Another Letter To His Supporters

If you’re one of the millions of people who’ve been captivated by Netflix documentary Making A Murderer in recent weeks, you’ve probably spent a lot of your time debating whether or not Steven Avery is guilty.

The convicted murderer has always maintained his innocence since he was sentenced in 2007 and thousands of people have called for his release from prison since the release of the smash-hit documentary series.

Now, Avery has released another letter to his myriad of supporters from behind bars and he wants those who have stood by him to know that he is innocent of the murder of Teresa Halbach.

In the letter, posted on Twitter by his new lawyer Kathleen Zellner, Avery also calls for new forensic testing to clear his name.

The message reads “To my supporters: I want every forensic test possible done b/c I am innocent – Steven Avery.”

This handwritten message follows another letter sent to a journalist last week, in which Avery wrote: “The real killer is still out there. Who is he stalking now? I am really innocent of this case and that is the truth! The truth will set me free!”

On Friday, Zellner said in an interview that she believes advances in forensic testing could be the key to proving Avery’s innocence and expects the results from those tests back within a month.

It sounds like there are some very interesting times ahead in the continuing story of Steven Avery.
