Man Arrested In Connection With Keying £100,000 Aston Martin In London

Remember that bloke who appeared to key a £100,000 Aston Martin in London? Well, thanks to the power of social media, a suspect has been arrested.

Dash-cam footage was released yesterday of a pram-pushing man in east London appearing to take keys out of his pocket and then scrape them down the side of the luxury sports car, causing thousands of pounds worth of damage.

Hackney police confirmed on their Twitter account that a 48-year-old man has been arrested under suspicion of criminal damage, in connection with the incident:

In a press release, the Metropolitan police said the man has been taken to a north London police station for questioning.

The criminal damage occurred on June 19 and the driver of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage wasn’t best pleased when he returned to a supermarket car park to discover the vandalism that had been done to his beloved vehicle.

We’ve still no idea what the motive behind the crime was – jealousy, a stand against gentrification, or just plain old vandalism for shits and giggles?
